2. Brief Historical and Narrative Context:
   These three psalms, traditionally attributed to King David, offer a powerful progression of themes. Psalm 22 is a poignant messianic psalm that vividly foretells the Savior's suffering and crucifixion, including His cry from the cross, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?". Psalm 23 then shifts to a tender portrayal of the Lord as a benevolent shepherd who provides for, guides, and comforts His flock, even through death's shadow.
