This profound scripture passage captures Alma's invitation to a group of believers gathered secretly at the Waters of Mormon. Alma, a former priest of wicked King Noah, had repented after hearing the prophet Abinadi's testimony. Amidst persecution from King Noah, Alma taught these eager believers about repentance, redemption, and faith in the Lord, preparing their hearts for a sacred commitment. The people, desiring to "come into the fold of God, and to be called his people", joyfully accepted Alma's teachings and expressed a fervent desire to be baptized.

• How has keeping your baptismal covenant enabled you to "stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places" in your daily life?
• In what ways can actively striving to "bear one another's burdens" and "mourn with those that mourn" deepen your relationship with the Savior and strengthen your community?

Their fervent desire to "come into the fold of God" and commit to service and discipleship was met with divine promises of redemption and the abundant outpouring of the Spirit. Today, we can focus on faithfully remembering and living our baptismal covenant by consciously seeking opportunities to reach out and minister to someone in need of comfort or support, bearing their burden as Christ would bear ours.
